Commercial electric solutions for all types of facilities
Commercial facilities have a wide range of unique needs and problems. No matter what your situation may be, we can send a commercial electrician to handle them for you the right way. We believe it’s important to provide the right solution the first time, every time. That’s how we’ve built our reputation throughout Central Ohio. Commercial electricians have a lot riding on their shoulders, and our commitment to excellence is what has enabled us to provide our clients with the solutions that they need.

Installation of Control Panels and Control Integration
Commercial electric power needs require the correct installation and maintenance of control panels along with the correct type of control integration. Our knowledgeable staff will help you develop the right solution for your commercial facility.
Installation of Control Wiring and DC Power Wiring
Connecting all of the parts of your electrical system is made possible by your control wiring. As a part of our commercial electrician services, we’ll install this for your facility, also ensuring that your DC power wiring installation complies with all necessary state and local guidelines.

Installation of Instrumentation Devices and Wiring
Instrumentation is a broad term that can sound complex, though it really comes down to a key concept. Your facility has power flow needs that can vary, depending on the operation or task being performed. Understanding how to implement these features into your power grid requires the skills of a highly qualified and skilled commercial electrician, such as our various team members.
Installation of Programmable Logic Controllers
Many of us are used to the nature of technology in the workplace. Today’s modern manufacturing facilities require skilled laborers who understand how to use industrial computers that perform a series of repeating tasks. In the commercial electrical industry, we call these logic controllers and our team is more than happy to help you install them throughout your building.

Machinery Hookup
Companies spend thousands, if not millions, of dollars to build assembly line machines. Each of these has its own unique power needs. Properly wiring machinery into your power grid so that your facility does not expect power downtime is one of our commercial electrician service offerings.
Motor Control Centers
Centralized control of multiple electric motor systems is often a vital need for facility managers. Our team can help properly install these, ensuring that your company’s needs are met while maintaining all required safety protocols.

Moves, Adds, and Changes
Is your facility expanding? Will you be moving one unit or group to another space? Or are you relocating to a new location? Regardless of your needs, our commercial electric team can help ensure a smooth transition for your operation. We’ll work with you each step of the way, acting as a partner during this time.
Power and Lighting Utility Services
Utility companies are the unspoken hero of our society. We’ve built relationships with those firms locally, and have developed systems and processes to ensure that your power and lighting setups meet their stringent requirements for installation and ongoing maintenance.

Plant Shutdowns
Will your company be shutting down soon, perhaps for a planned vacation or a larger maintenance process? If so, let us know. Each of our Yoder Electric commercial electricians is fully trained and prepared to help you throughout the entire shutdown process. This service helps your company minimize unexpected downtime by getting your electrical needs addressed as quickly as possible.
Preventive Maintenance
Everyone knows the old saying, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Truth be told, this is 125% appropriate for commercial electrician services. Preventative maintenance performed today helps to minimize larger repair problems later. It also helps to extend the life of your machinery, reducing your replacement costs. In addition, if you’re planning to retrofit existing fixtures with newer ones, you may be able to recoup some of your costs if you’ve adequately maintained your older equipment.

Primary Voltage Distribution and Transformation
Do you know the primary voltage distribution requirements of your equipment? If not, don’t worry — that’s what we’re here for. Our team members will gladly ensure that the initial power needs for each of your pieces of equipment and fixtures both flow and behave as expected.
Troubleshooting and Repair
Every company, no matter how much effort you make to avoid it, will eventually encounter some kind of electrical problem. Having a trained and licensed commercial electrician take a look at your problem is the first step in mitigating the problem. Our team is fully versed in all areas of commercial electric troubleshooting and is equipped to repair any problem your facility may encounter.

Wiring & Switches
At the most basic level, commercial electric setups come down to professional-grade wiring, professional-grade switches, and the installation of both. While much more goes into building a facility’s power grid from the ground up, there will also be times when these basic components need to be replaced during the course of normal operations. Everything we provide to our clients, from our service to our hardware, will meet these requirements.
Commercial Electrician F.A.Q.
Since we first opened our doors, our technicians have encountered a wide range of inquiries, including where we’re located, how we operate, and an overview of our processes. To help facilitate this Q&A, we’ve put together this series of the most common questions and answers as a handy reference guide.
But of course, if you have any other questions beyond these about our commercial electrician services, feel free to reach out.
We have multiple sales offices throughout Franklin and the surrounding counties. Our primary office is located at 7927 Memorial Drive in Plain City. From there, we handle and route all of our commercial electrical and residential assignments to our technicians.
R&T Yoder Electric has been in operation for almost two decades. We opened our doors in 2004 and have grown to over 60 team members including commercial electricians, office support staff, our Service Department, and our friendly sales team.
Yes, we will gladly discuss with your operations team the value of an ongoing commercial electric service contract. Yes, we will gladly work with commercial contractors and business owners on Design-Build projects. Our team will be there from Day One, helping you plan the implementation of your electrical systems and lighting layouts. In addition, we can offer budget planning services, helping you to maintain your bottom-line expectations for your new construction project.
From the very start of your build project Yoder Electric will be there. We will be on site at your project to set up temporary electric service, laying out the subterranean electrical pipe runs and more. We will also coordinate with the builders, HVAC technicians, plumbers and any other service technicians you may have on site to make sure the electrical part of your build stays on track. However, this isn’t the end of our involvement. Once the drywall and paint work is completed, we’ll then revisit your property. It’s at that time we’ll hang all the lighting fixtures, finish installing any necessary or planned devices, and install covers throughout your facility.
The backbone of every commercial electric project is ensuring that your underground connections are installed properly. This includes both trenching and backfilling services.
Yoder Electric is proud to offer both of these services to our commercial electric customers. We use a mini excavator for larger projects. For smaller ones, we use a trencher. Our goal is to leave your landscaping as intact as possible, minimizing the damage while still providing quality commercial electric services.
In addition, we’ve built relationships with utility companies across our region. As many of them bury their infrastructure, we’ll work closely with them to ensure that all safety measures are followed. In addition, if complex excavating is necessary, we’ll collaborate with those firms to ensure we comply with all Call Before You Dig guidelines.
Yes, the Yoder Electric team has all of the necessary tools to service any kind of light pole. Our lifts allow us to reach commercial electric light poles of varying heights. We can also troubleshoot problems with your existing light pole infrastructure, replace blown or broken bulbs, and make adjustments as necessary to these types of fixtures.
Lighting solutions have changed significantly over the past several decades. While residential homes often used incandescent lighting, a common fixture for commercial facilities was fluorescent lighting.
However, like incandescent lighting for homes, fluorescent lighting had its own problems. Energy usage was often relatively high, some individuals are particularly sensitive to fluorescent lighting, and replacing blown bulbs was often a pain due to the frequency with which they would blow.
LED lighting has made major inroads, both with residential and commercial electric setups. Today, LED lighting is commonplace. It provides a more cost-effective and power-saving solution for commercial facilities.
In short, LED has significant benefits over traditional lighting and is an upgrade we highly recommend to all of our commercial electric customers.
Yes, we can and have worked with various industries across our region to retrofit their existing light fixtures with more power-efficient LED systems. Some of the clients we’ve worked with include car dealerships, parking lots, and business showrooms among others.
